I believe that Satan is the biggest screw up ever, and this is the reason why.
When Satan was thrown out of heaven, I imagine, he was very upset.
When God created the earth and everything in it, he made it perfect. God said it was good and God personally enjoyed his creation by taking walks in the evening. Satan saw his chance!! He had a way to get back at God. He persuaded Eve then Adam to follow himself. Satan started his work of trying to destroy God’s creation.
From that time until now, God’s plan for buying back, or redeeming, his creation has been in effect. We are the only part of creation given a soul and the only part of creation which can worship God and give him praise and honor and glory. For us, God sent Jesus.
Satan, I believe, did not know the plan. Satan does not know the future as God knows the future. Satan does not know everything God is thinking. Satan recognized Jesus as soon as he was born. Satan decided that the best thing was to get rid of Jesus. So Satan encouraged the events which eventually led to the crucifixion and death of Jesus. I believe that Satan was not aware of the resurrection plan, where Jesus reclaims his life and comes out of the grave after he is killed. Satan screwed up. Satan pushed to have Jesus killed but Jesus had to die so he could be resurrected. That was the plan. With the resurrection, Jesus conquered the most powerful force on earth, death. The life Jesus gives is more powerful than death. Satan caused his own defeat. Satan signed his own execution papers. Satan screwed up.
He wanted to mess up the creation that God himself enjoyed. But God’s creation will one day be what God intended in the first place, and Satan will be destroyed. The only choice Satan has now is to take as many people with him as possible. The more people that follow Satan, the fewer people to give God honor and praise and glory. But the time is coming when all sorts of creatures and beings and people will give God worship, praise, honor and glory.
I love telling Satan that he is a screw up. That he is the biggest screw up ever. He screwed up big time. I have something that Satan can never have…redemption. It is out of his reach. Jesus redeemed me. Jesus paid with his life to buy me back where I sold out to Satan. Jesus bought me again with his life. No matter how much I mess up, I always have redemption. The price has been paid. Satan can’t touch it. Redemption is for me.
Satan screwed up.
